1. Menus in WordPress & Divi

In this video we show you how to work with menus in your website. We cover how you can add pages to your menu, create drop downs, use custom links, and how to create a fixed menu that scrolls along.

Setting up your Secondary Menu

The secondary menu is an additional menu that can appear at the very top of your website. Divi also offers the option to show your social media icons there , a search icon and some contact details. There are various options how to display the information, and it’s possible to only display a few things. It’s also possible to display only social media icons in the top right corner on a white background. Here are a few a few examples:

Top menu bar on coloured background:

Only showing social media icons:

If you’d like to use a secondary menu, or display only icons at the top of your website, watch the next video to learn how to set it up:

Remember:

The secondary menu bar text colour and the secondary menu bar background colour are set to white, so please change that to your colour of choice to make your elements visible. You can do that in Dashboard >  Theme Customizer > Header and Navigation > Secondary Menu Bar, by changing the background colour from white to something else.

Only showing social media icons in the top right

It is also possible to not show this top bar but to have only social media icons visible in the top right of the screen as shown in the video above.

Remember that to create this effect, make sure you have created a menu for your Secondary menu location, but don’t add any pages. Set the Secondary Menu background colour to white, and your menu font colour to the colour you’d like to use for the icons.

Moving the icons to the right with Divi Booster:

Its possible to move the icons to the right of all the other content in the top menu bar. This often looks more elegant. Watch the quick video to make this setting:

Social Media Icons in the Bottom Bar

Social media icons that are set to appear in the top menu bar can also show at the bottom right corner of your website.
